GMU is committed to continuously improve its contribution to SDG 1- No Poverty. GMU has been progressing its endeavors for achieving SDG 1, some of them include the following:
Annual Ramadan food collection campaign at GMU
Gulf Medical University (GMU) showcases its commitment to compassion and community through its annual Ramadan Can Food Campaign. This initiative highlights GMU’s dedication to making a positive difference beyond healthcare education. During Ramadan, GMU unites students, faculty, staff, and the broader community to collect non-perishable food items. These contributions are carefully packaged and distributed to those in need, reflecting GMU’s core values of empathy and solidarity. The Ramadan Can Food Campaign addresses immediate hunger while demonstrating GMU’s ongoing commitment to community welfare and fostering a culture of kindness and support. This initiative underscores GMU's belief in the power of collective action to create meaningful change for those less fortunate.
We need food, not Tobacco!
Gulf Medical University was held in honor of World No Tobacco Day, aimed to raise awareness about the dangers associated with various forms of smoking and promote a healthier, tobacco-free lifestyle, under the WHO theme “We need food, not Tobacco.”
Health Camp in East Point Indian International School, Ajman
Health Camp was organized by College of Nursing in East Point Indian International School, Ajman. They were involved in Health Screening which involved in Health education, Calculating BMI and Glucose monitoring of the school teachers, administrative staff, housekeeping staff and also parents for further consultation and investigations. A total of 150 people benefited from the Health Camp.
Free Mega Medical & Dental Camp at Thumbay University Hospital Ajman
A Free Mega Medical & Dental Camp was held at Thumbay University Hospital, Al Jurf, Ajman.
Students involved in performing health assessment, anthropometric measurements, vital signs and Random Blood Glucose Check (GRBS) at the camp. In appreciation of their service, they will be honored with a certificate of appreciation.
Financial Aid to Students from Lower income and Lower-Middle income countries
GMU has a policy on financial aid to students. GMU offers discount of tuition fee to students as and when applicable. GMU has signed MoUs with countries like Palestine, Syria, Yemen, etc. to offer special financial aid in the form of discounts to students from low-income economies or lower-middle income economies country.

Total scholarship amount- AED 213,881,40.83
